WASHER TANK REPLACEMENT

[9000]
STEP 1 Jack up car and remove wheel

STEP 2 Pry up on hole in Coolant reservoir and move it over the compressor

STEP 3 Remove nuts in Fender well and bottom of inner fender well and remove inner lining as pictured

STEP 4 Remove two nuts just to the left of the water pump. These are nuts that hold the washer tank in. The can be accessed by removal of the lower panel right side and down from the top of the engine compartment. They are to the left of the receiver drier.

I recently replaced the tank on our 1995 9000 and would like to add a couple of tips. Take off the neck extension, if so equipped, before dropping the tank. There is not enough room to tilt the tank through the side for it to clear with it on. When swapping out the fluid level sensor
and washer pumps use a hair dryer to heat them and the holes before prying them out and for installation to the new tank. This lessens the chance of snapping or cracking the plastic. I almost learned this the hard way when I broke part of the lip on the level sensor prying it out but fortunately it didn't leak when I put it in the new tank.

STEP 5 As you remove the inner fender well you will see the Charcoal canister, Receiver Drier as well as the washer tank. You can see below that the tank bolts go through the fender for the washer tank and the receiver drier. The emission filter is mount on the silver bracket. Remove the components as necessary and re-install in reverse order.

STEP 6 Remove Upper Clip with small screwdriver and have someone hold the hood. Install new shock but do not forget to put the washers back on and re-install clips. Your done!
