Removal of the clutch master
Step 1 Cover Fenders for protection with soft fabric. Step 2 Remove TCS/ESP unit. Step 3 Connect 8819096 bleeding hose to the bleed nipple on the slave cylinder and drain the brake fluid from the clutch system. Step 4 Detach the inlet hose from the brake fluid reservoir. Step 5 Undo the clip securing the delivery pipe to the master cylinder. Step 6 Detach the delivery pipe from the clip. Step 7 Detach the delivery pipe from the master cylinder. Step 8 Remove the center console left-hand front side panel. Step 9 Remove the data link connector and the lower dashboard panel. Step 10 Remove both main cylinder nuts. Step 11 Remove the pushrod from the clutch pedal. Use a pair of pliers with bent jaws. Step 12 Remove the master cylinder.
Installation of the clutch master
Step 13 Transfer the hose to the new master cylinder Step 14 Fit the master cylinder and connect the delivery pipe. Step 15 Press the pipe to the clip. Step 16 Attach the pushrod to the clutch pedal. Step 17 Apply the master cylinder nuts and torque them to 20 Nm (15 ft lbs) Step 18 Pull out the adjustment rod from the self-adjusting cruise control switch and press it back with the pedal for correct adjustment. Step 19 Fit the lower dashboard panel and the data link connector. Step 20 Fit the centre console left-hand side panel. Step 21 Connect the hose to the brake fluid reservoir. Step 22 Bleed the clutch. Step 23 Install TCS/ESP unit. Step 24 Test the clutch operation.
