| [93 98-03]
The introduction of the Saab 93 brought no surprises. It is truly a typical Saab. It still maintains the unique personality that has always separated Saab vehicles from the rest of the automakers. The 93 shows considerable improvements over its early predecessor (the 900 series) but still holds true to form when thinking "SAAB"! Saab says that over 1100 changes were made to the 900 to convert it to the 93. A few of those improvements & additions are listed below:
- The V6/2.3 liter non-Turbo is no longer offered (Only the 2.3 Turbo) - A sophisticated Key System which makes the car nearly burglar proof - Addition of Side Airbags & The active head restrain system which prevents whiplash (moves the headrest forward and upward in the event of collision). - The Onstar Telematics System is now offered ( The OnStar System uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) and provides route guidance, roadside assistance, and emergency service in the case of theft or accident) - Redesigned front seating - A revised instrument panel - An electrostatic cabin air filter - Steering wheel radio controls - Driver and passenger Airbags
