Remove windscreen  wiper arms and rubber seals

Remove rear compartment weather-stripping.  note two clips

on either side

Undo two screw clips on either side of the scuttle

cover and remove. Lift from the front edge and pull away

from the windscreen to "unclip" from the rear retaining clips

Take care to feed the hood release cable

Remove Wiper motor and linkage

Remove the wiper motor bracket

NOTE: the 3rd bolt in the back does not need to come all the way out

Unclip and remove the blower motor frame

Clips on either side

Take the wiring off the motor cover by releasing the clips (one on either side) & cutting any wire ties as needed

Unscrew the blower motor cover

unplug the wiring to the motor, and move the cover to the side. Don't drop
the screws or you'll be fishing them out of the pollen filter.

Take the wiring out of the cover by pulling out the rubber plug. Pull the back panel in front of the motor forward to allow room to remove the motor. Wear gloves, the edge is fairly sharp. The Haynes manual recommends a ratchet strap, but I was able to manually pull it forward enough. If you bring the blower motor up and to the left you have a little more room.

The motor ( motor1.jpg) is very serviceable surprisingly.

I think I had a stuck brush

 I removed the brushes (brushremove.jpg)

and cleaned the commutator contacts with electrical contact cleaner. My motor worked fine after that.

Reinstall is simply the reversal.
