Removal
| STEP 1 | Make sure the air recirculation is turned off on the climate control unit and return the ignition switch to the off position |
| STEP 2 | Remove the windshield wiper arms using saab puller tool 8580144 |
| STEP 3 | Remove the rubber seals from the wiper spindles |
| STEP 4 | Loosen the rubber molding along the edge of the bulkhead in the middle only. Leave the outer clips in place |
| STEP 5 | Loosen the cover over the bulkhead partition space (fastened with clips) by carefully lifting it foward, releasing it from the windshield. Hold the cable to the hood release to one side and lift the cover backwards towards the windshield |
| STEP 6 | Loosen the clips on the front edge of the water shield with a screwdriver and remove the water shield. NOTE: Be careful removing the clips |
| STEP 7 | Remove the wiper unit by taking out the four bolts and unplug the connector |
| STEP 8 | Remove the bolted stay |
| STEP 9 | Remove the frame around the cabin fan by loosening the two clips and two nuts |
| STEP 10 | Remove the wiper arm bracket over the cabin fan fastened by three bolts |
| STEP 11 | Remove the cabin fan cover by removing the two front and two rear bolts |
| STEP 12 | Detach the wiring harness from the cover over the cabin fan. Detach and remove connector from cover |
| STEP 13 | Bend the bulkhead panel foward slightly to make it easier to remove the fan from the bulkhead partition space. At the same time, lift the fan and angle it toward the dismantled stay in order to remove it from the bulkhead partition. |
