This is an indication that the seals are worn in the master. The most common clutch master cylinder failure is leak down due to seal failure. The master cylinders will leak down from one day to the next. Generally noticed after the car has been sitting for a while (8-12 hours). This is an indication that the bearing is dry or is coming apart NOTE: The mid 1980's clutches on the Saab 900 changed design. You can tell the new style by noting that the clutch splines are no longer flat. If the splines are raised then it is the new style clutch pressure plate. Part number 8721995 is the Release bearing used with the new style clutch.
