It is common to see the AC Evaporators have to be replaced on the NG 900 94-98 especially. There were issues on the original cars that caused the end pieces to bind creating AC leaks. Once they begin to leak the only cure is to replace the evaporator which is no small job. The original evaporators were one piece but the new replacement products are two piece which makes the job much easier during the install.
Installation Instructions:
| STEP 1 | Drain the AC system of R134 Refrigerant and Remove the glove box |
| STEP 2 | Remove the centre console panel on the passenger side

| STEP 3 | Cars with an airbag on the passenger side remove the knee bolster on that side
|
| STEP 4 | Remove the air duct on the floor |
| STEP 5 | Remove the air duct to the dash side vent
|
| STEP 6 | Remove the automatic transmission control module from the bracket on the bulkhead wall and let it hang from its cables to the side and the bracket
|
| STEP 7 | Unplug the dash wiring and Open the cable ties and bend the cables to one side |
| STEP 8 | Turn down the carpet and remove the protective cover |
| STEP 9 | Remove the screws securing the fan control unit (cars with ACC)
|
| STEP 10 | Undo the nut securing the anti-freeze thermostat and remove the end cover on the climate control unit. The clips can be broken off to facilitate removal. The end cover can be screwed in place when refitted.

| STEP 11 | Cars with a 4-cylinder engine: Remove the screw securing the AC pipes PAD connection to the expansion valve. This screw is accessible from the engine bay.

| STEP 12 | V6 engine cars with Left Hand Drive, Remove the screws securing the expansion valve, Remove the expansion valve and plug the openings.

| STEP 13 | Unplug the connector and remove the anti-freeze thermostat
|
| STEP 14 | Cut the pipes with plate shears and pull the evaporator out of the climate control unit |
