The AC condensers job is to condense or cool down the gases that the refrigerant creates. In-order to do this efficiently the Freon passes through 4 or more loops (depending on the car) that are divided into a number of tunnels. The high pressure hose is connected to the condenser.
Removal of Evaporator
| STEP 1 | Drain the AC system & evacuate the AC refrigerant |
| STEP 2 | Remove the glove box & remove the wiring harness tie wrap at the evaporator housing |
| STEP 3 | Remove evaporator housing cover & air filter element |
| STEP 4 | Remove the cabin fan assembly |
| STEP 5 | Remove the expansion valve |
| STEP 6 | Remove the AC line block (5.9 ft lb torque) from the evaporator (may require cutting) |
| STEP 7 | Remove the evaporator (on some cars you may have to remove the temperature sensor) |
