AIRMASS METER REPLACEMENT

The Airmass meters on all Saabs are located in the upper intake tube just before the intake itself on the engine. They will usually have circular metal clamps that can be loosen with a flat screwdriver or yellow wire clamps that hold the meter to the plastic housing. Removal should be less than five minutes in most cases and no computer adjustment will be neccessary after the installation. Basically plug and play.

NOTE: The most common issues with Airmass meter failures is Black smoke from the tailpipe which is an indication that air flow wiring is not reading correctly causing a rich mixture. We have also seen issues with cold start problems especially on cars prior to the mid 1990's.
