KEY BATTERY REPLACEMENT (REPLACE KEY BATTERY ON SID)

If the Key Battery in going low you will see " REPLACE KEY BATTERY" on you SID Unit. This is the Key Battery Replacement on the Saab 95 (9-5) but the overall replacement should be similiar on all Saabs with a key battery.

USE THIS TIP: To replace the battery you will need to push a pin in the side of the key and pry up on the key cover top. Push the pin in the side hole of the key to remove the small battery cover. You would almost expect the battery cover to popup when you insert the pin in but it WILL NOT meaning that you need hold the pin against the tab and pull up on the side of the battery cover at the same time with a sharp object. A little patience will go a long ways here! This is NOT a hard job but it can test you patience.
